California, the Republic of Breakfast. Because Breakfast Republic is everywhere, it’s aptly named that. No more grizzly bears! Benedict’s, pancakes and French toast are gaining popularity. Breakfast Republic has nine locations now, with another one in Costa Mesa soon.
Breakfast Republic Mission Valley’s newest location makes it an ideal spot for shoppers looking to grab breakfast before heading out to the mall, or after a long day of shopping. After finishing my breakfast, I may have “accidentally” walked across the street to Nordstrom Rack.
Johan Engham, owner of Rise & Shine Restaurant Group, continues to fulfill the demand for healthy and delicious breakfast options in San Diego. Mission Valley was a perfect fit for them.
“I didn’t see any breakfast options in the area so it was logical for us to go to Mission Valley.”
You’ll find the same senses of humor at all locations. From the famous “run cock race” on the green walls to the dissertation about how drunk you are texting your ex, and staff wearing “this is my resting breakfast face” t-shirts. I love the fun, yet sometimes silly humor.
Breakfast Republic Classics
You can still enjoy the delicious Breakfast Republic classics such as the pancake flights (must have Oreo cookie pancakes in the flight), and the delectable French Toast options. There are also many other tasty, but equally delicious, playing food options that you can choose from. The breakfast Mac and Cheese and Steak and Eggs was delicious! You can get a strawberry rhubarb waffle or vegan chorizo-fried rice Benedict, and a bright, bubbly watermelon mocha on special at the moment!
The Jurassic Pork Bloody Mary is on my top 10 list of best San Diego bloody marys, two years in succession. It continues to be a leader in curing Breakfast Republic hangovers, and softening any sting from the previous night’s bad decisions. If bloody marys don’t appeal to you (weird), grab some hard kombucha, or an adaptogenic antioxidant shot to reenergize and revitalize. You can grab one of their specialty lattes to take to the shops, as nothing is better than retail therapy and great coffee.
